What can I give my baby for breakfast? What do babies eat for breakfast?!
Here are some of my fav baby breakfasts that are quick, easy to make + also NUTRITIOUS! These are either ideas to prep ahead OR for minimal prep in the morning - because who has time these days - honestly
Here are some of my faves…
🍌Banana + toast fingers - literally some buttery toasted bread and a banana mashed on top- topped with a sprinkling of baby safe seeds like linseed and chia seeds - seeds provide protein, iron and omega-3
🫐Porridge cake + blueberry mash-up – prep ahead some cooked porridge cake - then grab from the fridge and mash into a few dollops of thick Greek yoghurt, served with whole juicy blueberries- squished between your thumb and forefinger (for older babies >9-10 months only!) Pre load the mash onto a weaning spoon or serve in a suction bowl (Check out my porridge cake recipe here!)
🍓 Yoghurt + mashed berries – grab a few spoons of thick and creamy, full fat Greek yoghurt and stir through some squished raspberries or strawberries to make a delicious and fruity high protein breakfast! Stir through a spoonful of smooth nut butter for an extra protein boost
🍏 Grated apple + almond porridge – warm porridge with grated apple, some smooth almond butter and a pinch of cinnamon stirred through - mmmmm yum
🥭Chia pudding – milk + chia seeds left over night, and topped with soft ripe fruit like mango for a morning dose of omega-3s!
🥚 Scrambled egg + toast – protein and iron-packed and ready in minutes
🍌 Banana pancakes – mashed banana, wholemeal flour, and milk combined and pan-fried into soft, dippable pancakes! Check out the full recipe - rustic easy peasy banana pancakes - prep ahead and freeze!
🍉Watermelon fingers - fresh juicy watermelon fingers served with a quick pan-fried egg omelette
🍍Smoothie bowl - frozen fruit blended with full fat yoghurt and topped with dessicated coconut and baby-safe seeds like chia and ground flax
⚡️ Salmon and egg frittata cups - pour whisked eggs into a muffin tin with flaky salmon pieces for a grabbable iron + omega-3 packed breakfast
🍑 Juicy ripe apricot + a baby friendly muffin - try one of my prepable breakfast muffins straight from the fridge (try my Oh baby! carrot + spice muffins, and my tahini and banana breakfast muffins)
