Hi, I’m Christina Hills
I am a registered dietitian, nutritionist and your go-to-guide for all things baby and child nutrition! An evidence-based, natural and whole foods approach is at the centre of what I do! I help parents to feel confident feeding their babies and young children, from starting solids and nourishing their babies throughout the first year and beyond, to working through dietary challenges like allergies, restricted eating, eczema, nutrient deficiencies, sensory feeding challenges and gut issues!
I have over 9 years experience in the NHS as well as private practice. I am also a mother to a beautiful girl who I have enjoyed cooking for and feeding!
In my virtual clinic I support families with all things baby and child feeding and nutrition optimisation. Book a 1:1 now
At the heart of my method is responsive feeding which will help you to raise happy eaters. Explore my workshops here
How I ended up here… I have always loved food, so after studying biology and medical sciences at Manchester University, I moved to the big smoke and studied for my masters in Nutrition at Kings College London. After that, I trained as a dietitian - also at Kings College London, and fell in love with helping families through food.
I have worked in lots of different kinds of roles supporting parents with babies and children with their nutrition needs, including 9 years in the NHS. I trained at some of the top London Hospitals including the Guy’s and St Thomas’ and the Royal Free Hospital, and spent three years working on the children’s wards at University College Hospital, before moving into a paediatric community role in West London.
In my clinic in the NHS I have seen so many babies struggling with feeding difficulties- including with swallowing issues, tongue tie and various neurological presentations- and other dietary challenges like food allergies, intolerances and nutritional deficiencies
In order to treat my clients I have worked alongside many other feeding therapists like Speech and Language Therapists (SLT), Occupational Therapists (OT) and Physiotherapists (PT) in order to maximise development and work towards feeding and nutrition goals.
I am fascinated at how strategies - like the way solid foods are offered to babies in the first year of life - can have a huge impact on the development of our relationship with food!
I fell in love with baby + child nutrition so I set up The Happy Feeding Company with the aim of supporting parents to raise happy eaters and being your go-to guide for baby feeding!
Chrissie :)
